Compressors Installation Procedure.
All compressors should be replaced once a full system flush has been undertaken followed with a replacement receiver drier/accumulator and expansion valve/orifice tube. At this time the system needs to be checked for evidence of why the original unit failed (fans working correctly, no blockages, system cycling at correct intervals, correct oil type/qty) in certain circumstances it may be necessary to change the condenser, Failure to do so will invalidate warranty.
Compressors that have failed may be subject to further investigation by the manufacturer in which case it will be necessary for the original invoice stating exactly what has been changed and work carried out (to also include the mileage and current mileage when part was changed) to be supplied, failure to do so will invalidate warranty from the manufacturer. Remanufactured compressors will also require the same information as above. All returned compressors must be returned with the original oil in place and capped; this is vital to ascertain why the unit has failed. These terms are additional criteria for compressors to which then the above warranty terms will also take affect.
All compressors that are surcharged must be returned in original packaging and the fittings must be blanked to avoid oil spillage. Upon receipt the credit for the surcharge will be raised. Invoices with surcharge invoiced along with part must be paid in full with no deduction.
Any products no longer required that were supplied correctly will be subject to small administration charge to cover collection costs. All items must be returned in original packaging and must be packed to avoid return damage with the carriers, failure to do so will result in no credit being raised. Items received by you damaged/incorrect will be credited in full, all damages/shortages must be notified within 48hrs of receipt any items received with damage to the outer box must be signed for as “damaged” and notified back to us for claim on carrier. During our initial visit we carry out various leak tests prior to re gassing your vehicle, this is especially important when dealing with vehicles showing very little or no refrigerant within the system as this often results in a leak being present.
Our testing equipment is very accurate but unfortunately may not detect very slow leaks which normally take days or even weeks to drain.
This would have been explained to the car owner during the initial service appointment.
The preferred method to determine a leak would be with the use of UV dye but unfortunately most vehicles do not already have this within their A/C system meaning that very slow leaks would not be apparent until the introduction of UV dye and until the UV dye has leaked leaving a visible trail only visible with a UV testing kit.
We shall introduce UV dye to your system which would aid future leak detection should a leak arise.
No charge shall be required by a returning technician to carry out a leak test using a UV dye detection kit should your air conditioning performance deteriorate during the first 30 days after initial service.
Once a leak has been identified our technician would be in a position to recommend a solution and in most cases carry out an onsite repair. Onsite repairs shall be charged accordingly.
Should the problem be more serious our technician shall advise a solution and in most cases issue a full quote to carry out the repair at a future date.
A full report shall be issued during this appointment detailing the exact repair required so as to allow you to seek third party quotes.
Should a leak be detected during the initial service appointment the technician shall attempt to repair the leak if this is due to loose joints or corroded seals within the service cost.
Should the leak be more serious the technician shall issue a report detailing the repair required and in most cases offer an on the spot quote for repair at a future date.
Should a leak be detected during initial service appointment the full service fee shall still apply.
